The Grand Chenier - Bead Star 2010 - Crystals Entry

The Grand Chenier
 Bling Meets The Barn

My Bead Star entry "The Grand Chenier" is entered in the "Crystals" category.  Can you say "Over the top?"  This necklace is beyond bling.  It if fit for a queen or at least a wannabe princess.

Many people describe my designs as "Romantic with a vintage flair".  When I think of "Crystals",  it reminds me the era when women wore dress and heels to cook dinner.  Their hair was perfectly coiffed as they stood in the doorway with a martini waiting for their husbands to arrive home.  I personally am a jeans/t-shirt girl and my husband would rather have a beer.

The components of this necklace are sterling silver wire, jump rings, head pins and filigree connectors.  The beads include Swarovski crystal beads and fireballs.

The centerpiece is a vintage "Eisenberg" pin.  Eisenberg costume gems are my favorite.  The quality of the setting and crystals are amazing.

The photo above shows the back of the Eisenberg pin.  I never remove a pin or alter an antique piece of jewelry unless it is already broken.  If you do,  it will decrease the value of the piece significantly.

"The Grand Chenier" is named after my father-in-laws ranch "The Grand Chenier".  If you live in California and are looking for a unique secluded venue to hold your wedding or special event, the Grand Chenier is the place for you.

The Barn is a fabulously unique venue for all Life's special celebration.   This exclusive locale has it all.

The Grand Chenier Ranch (pronounced Sha-neer) is a privately owned working cattle and horse ranch that consists of 4,000 acres of prime Central California real estate in southern Monterey County.  The name grand chenier means "big oak grove".

You can still vote for me in Bead Star.  To vote Click the link "Bead Star".  My designs are all number 20 EXCEPT Glass #19 and Designs with Heart #18.  You can also go to my  original Bead Star post to see all the designs and voting information.  Voting ends June 9.

  5. That necklace is absolutely beautiful. It makes me think of Princess Diana. It would have been stunning on her with a cobalt gown and her sparkly blue eyes!
