My first Bead Soup Party Reveal!   I would like to thank  Lori Anderson for coordinating this fabulous event!  Bead Soup is a labor of love for Lori.  Please be sure to visit her blog. I am also overwhelmed by the tremendous response I have received regarding the "Best Bead Give-A-Way Ever" .   Everyday, I enter names and numbers on a spreadsheet.   Lori will pick the winning numbers on July 2nd - I wanted to make it as fair as possible!  Please click the side link or scroll down to enter my contest. My partner   Amanda Davie sent me this incredible bead soup mix and the Sari silk.  My Three "Bead Soup" Necklaces Please click on photos to enlarge. I love Amanda's hand-made "Hope" clasp. This design features Amanda's hand-made resin bird pendant and bronze wood clasp. Amanda also created the centerpiece link, the tiny bottle with the feather and the copper "Journey" pendant.   Be sure to check out Am...

Goodies From Amanda Davie

What luck to have been partnered with Amanda Davie in my first "Bead Soup Blog Party."  When I received her package in the mail I  was absolutely thrilled.  I have learned that the participants in "Bead Soup" package their soup mixes with love and creativity.  My packaging skills need vast improvement.  It is something to aspire to at the next party.  Amanda's envelope arrived with bird stamps and a lovely handmade mailing label (why didn't I think of that?). My bead soup was carefully packaged into a handmade quilted bag.  This bag is fabulous!  I love the colors, texture and the bird theme.  Although I have not quilted in a few years, the bag makes me want to break out my Bernina . Wow, Amanda sent me hand dyed silk not knowing that I am really into designing with silk right now. This next picture is Amanda's handmade toggles/connectors.  The wood toggle is made of bronze and the dress/hope toggles are made of brass, co...

Bead Soup - Goodies for Amanda Davie

Image
The first phase of the Bead Soup Blog Party has begun.  I shipped out my package this morning to my partner Amanda Davie .  If you have not seen Amanda's Etsy store   & "What's On The Wall" you need to check it out.  She is an amazing multi-media jewelry designer and artist.  Attached are photos of what I gathered to send Amanda.  I wanted to think out of the box,  so a ready made pendant would not do.  It seemed so uninspiring for this talented artisan. The "Soup" is a mix of vintage carnelian beads, yellow agate, amazonite, turquoise, aquamarine, citrine drops, carnelian drops, bone flowers, resin crackle beads, Czech glass hearts and one Raku bead. The focal is an antique lock and key with a silver "inspire"bird charm.  The clasp was hand made by myself.  It is a brass key bent into a hook and a riveted brass bird on a hammered ring. The next photo is strips of colorful Sari silk (I am very into Sari silk right now),...
