"Critchfield" - Bead Star 2010 "Seed Beads" Entry
The colors in this necklace are much more vibrant than Bead Star photograph portrays.
The chain was the hardest part to complete in this design. Each jump ring is opened, beads applied (sometimes the beads do not fit making the process time consuming), then chained together.
I love making clasps out of Vintaj filigree. This is a new technique for me. Has anyone else ever seen this done?
Once again, I had horrible time taking pictures of this piece. Above, is the Bead Star entry photo. I think my jewelry is best photographed on brown tones.
I like the idea for using filigree for making clasps, how clever! I am definitely going to give it a try!

Hi Denise,
ReplyDeleteLOVED cruising through the entries and enjoying your beautiful work.
We are opening a small "Literary Lodging" in an historic building in Damariscotta, Maine. Downstairs, in what was once the apothecary shop, is Darling and DeLisle and they are also craftsmen and make their own jewelry and beads. Just for the sake of fellow artists I think you'd enjoy their work too.
Looking forward to getting better acquainted with your creative works.

The clasp is truly unique and very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think that beads are the hardest things to photograph, trying to get the magic glow of glass or the changing lusters in iris or aurora borealis beads is impossible.
