Pretty Palettes April Reveal
It is time for the Pretty Palettes April reveal.
This month Erin Prais-Hintz is inspired by a collaborative art exhibit that she is undertaking at a local co-op gallery. The theme of this exhibit will be called "Beauty in the Broken Places." In her search for inspiration she came upon a concert called "Wabi-Sabi." This concept is based on impermanence of beauty, that there is beauty in the broken, the rusty and old. “Pared down to its barest essence, wabi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in nature, of accepting the natural cycle of growth, decay, and death. It’s simple, slow, and uncluttered – and it reveres authenticity above all.” NobleHabor.com

Here are my Bead Gallery® Beads
Bead Gallery® Pyrite stone nuggets
Bead Gallery® silver iris glass 6/0
Bead Gallery® metal gears
I used the Art C paint to create a patina look on the gear. E-6000 was used to attach the gear to the pyrite stone. Both the paint and the E-6000 dried super quick.
I love the Bead Gallery® gears - they are perfect for this challenge.
I hope you enjoyed my design for this month. For more daily inspiration please be sure to visit my instagram at

Oh! The pyrite nuggets are perfect! I don't think they have those in my small store. I love the simple and boho flair of this. Never heard of those paints (so now something else on my radar!). Thanks for playing along with me. I always love to see what you do. Enjoy the day! Erin
ReplyDeleteI love how you glued the gear on the stone! I need to remember that! Love the way you tied the ends also!
