We All Scream For Ice Cream!   Summer Stringing Magazine is on the newsstands! Congratulations to Lorelei Eurto for the fabulous cover necklace! I have three projects in this issue.   The first is "Disc Go".  This necklace features Indian Creek Art Glass and Vintaj Natural Brass.     The next design is called "Gleefully Gaea".  This necklace is named after one of my favorite art bead designers "Gaea" .   The last design is a bracelet with a pendant handmade by myself using an antique poker chip.   This issue is jam packed with beautiful summer designs.  Be sure to pick up your copy today!

I am so excited that my friend Erin Strother made the cover of this month's Bead Trends Magazine!  Congratulations Erin! I have one project in this issue.  It is called "Crush". The design was crafted using Sari Silk, Vintaj Natural Brass, vintage glass stone and glass beads.   I love the romantic feel of this necklace. On another note....... many of you might be wondering where the heck I have been.  I have to tell you it has been one horrible year for my family.  I am thinking of the worst and praying for the best.  I am having a hard time even meeting my magazine deadlines.  So, I have kinda let my blog go by the wayside.  I am sorry about that.  I guess I just need to pull it together!  Thanks to all my followers for not leaving me. I love the cover of this months Bead Trends magazine.  It is perfect for Easter and the earrings are fabulous!   EarthenOxide is a side project started Melanie Brooks as a place to house her new mixed media creations. While she enjoys success with her ceramic studio site Earthenwood Studio and the related Earthenwood Etsy and Etsy Galleria shops, she wanted a special place where her non-clay creations could have a home without competing with my ceramics. Some of the materials she enjoys using to create an EarthenOxide item include: old keys and key plates, jeweler's grade resin, fine opalescent powders, vintage book pages, and assorted ephemera.  Designer Highlight for March 2011 I am extremely honored to have been chosen as the Designer Highlight for the March 2011 issue of Bead Trends Magazine.             I am sorry that I have been M.I.A.  I had a few family emergencies but everything is back to normal now.  The winner of the "Heart Lock It" necklace was moonlitfantaseas.
